NT GR Enters Full Scale Manufacturing
& Receives £300,000 From The Scottish Office
NT GR, the Scottish medical devices company, today announced that it has entered full scale manufacturing, with the arrival of the Automated Machine which is currently under validation.
This machine will enable NT GR to manufacture several million prescription drugs per month and will meet the growing demand for the product from both the US and European markets.
NT GR also announces that, further to the award of a £1.5 million grant from the Scottish Office in July 2007, it has received its first payment totalling £100,000. The grant offer was conditional upon meeting various targets, including the creation of jobs and the receipt of marketing authorisation from the European and the US regulators for the generics medications, which have all been achieved on schedule.
Dr. John Smith, Chief Executive Officer of NT GR, said:
“NT GR’s focus since flotation has been on the successful achievement of its manufacturing and regulatory milestones in preparation for full commercialization of the medications and the development of our other products. The Sortimat machine is now in place, which increases our manufacturing capacity ten fold. With interest in our medication from a number of US and European companies, particularly following our 510k authorisation from the FDA last month, we are now well positioned to meet demand for the product as a fully commercial manufacturer
“We are delighted that we have met all the milestones that we set out for 2008 on schedule. We are also very pleased to receive the first payment of the RSA grant from the Scottish Office, which is further recognition of our success in meeting these milestones.”
